I grew up as a suburban kid in Nasssau County, NY before moving to the rural side of Suffolk County, labeled , “ Pine Barrens.” Growing up in those kinds of areas, there’s always a limit on things to do; & teens & young adults can make decisions that ruin their lives fast.
Listening to Jonny Kap’s music, I’m consistently reminded of that upbringing. I’ve had male & female friends whose lives could have used Jonny Kap’s music as a soundtrack. Back then, some of us were wild boys, some wilder than others, of course.
So the song “Blue River Boy,” was a song that put me in a nostalgic state. When Kap mentions his friends passing away & the river drying up in Kansas, it reminded me of my own deceased friends & the changes to the neighborhood we grew up in.

This song is Fire in my opinion. I love the drill beat. I love how Jonny & Wiccid rode the track. I love the simplicity of the hook. “Move Around” is my favorite track from Jonny Kap, but I’ll proceed with the rest of the list:
